Special Farm to School Fridays on Tuesday!
We are asking Jay Penrice to join us in person again on Tuesday, May 24th at 9:15 am to show us how easy it can be to prepare a quiche and an omelet using some fresh ingredients harvested fresh from our site. We will also cover nutrition information using MyPlate and Farm to Table Concepts.

This week is all about Site Tours, wrapping up your TikTok Challenge videos with your students, participating in utilizing the Digital Picture Frames, and ending the week with a final half recorded half live session for Farm to School Fridays.

[Week 1: PD Week] Farm to School Updates
Today is PD Week! This means we are uploading the PD videos to our PD pages throughout the week. Our goal is to have all of them up by Thursday. Please note: There will be no virtual or scheduled PD, only the posts that we are putting on the website…
Week 1: Pre-Test & Post-Test
Testing before and after the program helps us gauge the effectiveness of the program. You’ll want to do this week 1.
Week 2: Taste Test Kit
Fresh herbs grown at San Andreas helps introduce students to new foods and create a great learning opportunity.
Week 2: Grow in a Glove Kit
Your first activity with options of changing different variables to grow and germinate seeds in a glove.
Week 2: TikTok Video Challenge
Start filming as early as Week 2 with your class. You and your students will determine which of the three (3) video types you will put your Farm to School twist on to win a prize!

Kits have been delivered this week with some important action items to take care of before our program starts next week. Check the action items to make sure you’ll be ready when we start with PD Week next week to prep for your activities with your students the following weeks to come.
Week 4: Grow in Soil Kit
Transplant your basil plant from your grow in a glove kit or start seeds from your basil seeds from the Seed Discovery Kit.
Week 3: Seeds Discovery Kit
Have your class compare and contrast how the different kinds of seeds turn into the different plants they become
Week 4: Growfetti Kit (K-3rd only)
A fun way for K-3rd graders to learn the different phases of growing flowers. Multi-color-shaped wildflower seed papers make up your “growfetti.”
