JANE TAKAHASHI, LEAD HORTICULTURALIST & DATA SPECIALIST
Jane Takahashi is the Technical Expert and Lead Horticulturist with knowledge, skills, and expertise for over 13 years in introducing healthy produce options into local communities and managing the maintenance of growing systems, quality assurance control, and procedures. Jane is also the lead Horticulturist and “The” Nerd Farmer. She also assists with developing relationships and partnerships with other local organic fruit and vegetable growers. Jane has a Bachelor of Technology in Horticulture from Andrews University with a background in organic farming, greenhouse, and high tunnel growing system maintenance. Jane has an education in Controlled Environment Agriculture from the University of Arizona and Plant Factory Farming from Chiba University in Japan. Jane also holds certifications in PFAL Systems .
Prior to this, Jane had three years of urban agriculture experience in Philadelphia, transforming blighted vacant lots into thriving community gardens. Jane has a passion for increasing accessibility to quality food and farming.
